First stop: San Pietro – Island of the Gran Sasso of Italy
The route offers a direct and sensory experience of the environment and landscape of the Park: it starts from the San Pietro Water Center and, after the first hundred meters of the municipal road, continues on an ancient mule track very frequented in the past by the inhabitants of San Pietro to reach the beech forest, the main resource for the work of the woodcutters and charcoal burners.
In a few minutes you can reach the water catchments and the small source of the Acquatina at 815 meters above sea level.
Along the route the blind are accompanied by signs on the ground, handrails and panels in relief.
